Belgian bank KBC’s mobile app has been recognized as the best in the world by consulting firm Sia Partners. The app, which includes a digital assistant named Kate, claimed the top spot in a
review of 140 banking apps from 22 different countries. The evaluation was based on more than 95 criteria.
Belfius, another Belgian bank, ranked eighth in the survey. France’s Boursobank made an impressive debut by securing second place, while Revolut Metal finished third. The ranking considered key aspects like functionality, user experience, and customer ratings.
Sia Partners emphasized the growing competition in mobile banking, noting that even small enhancements in app functionality or user experience can result in shifts in the rankings. They also pointed out the widening gap between digital leaders and other banks.
“Our Digital First strategy, which has been the cornerstone of our policy from the start, has once again proven its value. It highlights the innovative strength we continue to build on as a group,” said KBC CEO Johan Thijs.
