Despite achieving record-breaking sales, there are still 1.2 million tickets available for the upcoming Paris Olympic Games, which commence next week.
Organizers announced on Wednesday that tickets for events like athletics and swimming finals will be released on Thursday.
The Paris Olympics recently surpassed previous ticket sale records, having sold 8.7 million tickets so far. The previous record of 8.3 million was set by the 1996 Atlanta Games in the United States.
Despite these impressive figures, the organizing committee's general director, Mickaël Aloïsio, noted during a press briefing that 1.2 million tickets are still up for grabs.
"More than 50,000 new tickets will be made available on Thursday across over thirty sports," Aloïsio stated, highlighting events such as athletics and swimming finals. Additionally, starting Monday, more tickets will be released daily.
Fans interested in watching Belgian athletes can secure tickets for events like the Belgian Cats in women's basketball in Lille, hockey matches in Colombes, as well as sports like track cycling, badminton, boxing, table tennis, and judo.
