Following a record-setting winter in 2024/25, Swiss tourism is poised for continued growth this summer. According to economist Simon Flury from BAK Economics, the number of overnight
stays is projected to rise to 24.9 million between May and October—an increase of 2% over the previous year.
High-profile events such as the Eurovision Song Contest, the European Women’s Championships, and the Swiss Wrestling and Gymnastics Festival are expected to boost demand and contribute to what could be another record-breaking season.
Despite the impact of U.S. tariffs, American tourism remains strong. Growth from the U.S. market is projected to continue, although at a slower pace: after a 15% increase last year, a 6% rise is expected for summer 2025.
Meanwhile, the Chinese market appears to be stabilizing, with post-pandemic recovery effects tapering off.
