The cost of a cup of coffee in Czech restaurants and cafés has increased by 4% over the past year, now averaging CZK 57.80, according to data from the Dotykačka point-of-sale system.
Since 2019—before the COVID-19 pandemic—prices have surged by 63.3%.
Coffee prices have been steadily rising for six years, with the most significant jumps occurring during the pandemic between 2020 and 2021, and again from 2023 to 2024 amid high inflation.
The price of coffee varies more by the type of venue than the style of coffee. Cafés charge the most, with an average of CZK 65 per cup, followed by restaurants and bars at CZK 53, and pubs at CZK 42.
