Chancellor Olaf Scholz's Social Democratic Party (SPD) is poised to finish in third place according to exit polls from Germany's European vote.

The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its sister party, the Christian Social Union (CSU), are projected to secure up to 30% of the vote. The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) is expected to garner between 16% and 16.5%, leaving the SPD trailing with only 14%.
