A majority of Swedes—51 percent—anticipate rising housing prices over the next year, according to Länsförsäkringar’s February Housing Price Barometer.

"We expect mortgage rates to drop to around 3 percent by summer, which will ease household interest expenses and support price increases in the housing market," said Stefan Westerberg, private economist at Länsförsäkringar, in a press release.

The latest figures represent a slight dip from previous months, with 52 percent predicting price increases in January and 53 percent in December.

Meanwhile, 38 percent of respondents believe housing prices will remain relatively stable, 4 percent foresee a decline, and 7 percent are uncertain.

The survey was conducted between January 21 and February 4, using a randomly selected web panel of 1,700 participants.
