Net immigration to Switzerland experienced a decrease of 6,237 individuals compared to the previous year, totaling 40,963 people in the first half of 2024, as reported by Swiss authorities on
Thursday.
By the end of June, the number of foreign nationals residing in the country reached 2,338,710, according to the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM).
In total, 80,684 individuals moved to Switzerland as permanent foreign residents between January and June 2024, marking a 5.9% drop from the same timeframe last year.
