Graduates from Swiss universities are highly sought after by international employers, as highlighted by the latest Global Employability University Rankings (GEURS). The rankings, released on
November 14, 2024, underscore Switzerland's strong global position for producing employable graduates, with seven of its universities featured among the top 250 institutions worldwide.
Top-Ranked Swiss Universities in Employability
According to the Times Higher Education magazine, Switzerland is ranked 10th in terms of graduate employability. Among Swiss institutions, ETH Zurich holds 17th place, followed by EPFL at 27th, the University of Zurich at 73rd, the University of Bern at 112th, the University of Lausanne at 114th, the University of Basel at 121st, and the University of Geneva at 188th.
This stable presence among the top universities reflects Switzerland's continued excellence in preparing students for global job markets. Over 40 countries and regions are represented in the top 250, with Switzerland maintaining the same number of universities in the rankings as last year.
Global Insights from GEURS
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) tops the GEURS list, with US and UK institutions dominating 10 of the top 20 spots. Other countries represented in the top 20 include Germany, Japan, Singapore, China, Canada, Spain, and France. Asian universities also saw increased representation, with 52 institutions from the region in the top 250, highlighting a shift toward a more globally oriented approach in higher education.
