From now on, all winners of the Tour of Flanders will have their photos displayed on a wooden wall on the Tour of Flanders street in Kluisbergen. Previously, the photos of the cycling heroes
were printed on cobblestones, but they would fade and wear away over time.
In the Tour of Flanders street in Kluisbergen, near the monument of cyclist Karel Van Wijnendaele, there are 10 large photos of Tour of Flanders winners. Opposite them, a wooden wall has been built to display the photos of all the winners of the race, along with the year in which they won. Cyclists can admire their idols while sitting on a bench, and there is also a bike rack provided.
There is also space provided to add the winners of future editions of the race to the wall. The youngest winners of the Tour of Flanders will have to wait a bit longer to see their names on the street, but it should be done before the next edition of the race, which takes place on April 2nd. For now, names like Mathieu van der Poel and Kasper Asgreen for the men's race, and Chantal van den Broek-Blaak, Annemiek van Vleuten, and Lotte Kopecky for the women's race have not yet been added to the wall.
