On September 25, 2023, Russia took the unprecedented step of adding Piotr Hofmanski, the President of the International Criminal Court (ICC) located in The Hague, to its
list of individuals wanted by authorities. However, no specific details regarding the allegations against Hofmanski were provided.
The Interior Ministry's wanted list, as reported by state news agencies Tass and Ria Novosti, simply states, "Hofmanski Piotr Jozef, Polish. Wanted under an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation."
In March, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and one of his advisers in connection with the deportation of Ukrainian children. Additionally, President Putin has faced allegations of war crimes. Russia, despite not being a member of the ICC, vehemently asserts that these charges hold no validity. Moreover, Russia has also issued arrest warrants for ICC prosecutor Karim Khan and multiple judges associated with the court. Photo by OSeveno, Wikimedia commons.
