Chinese e-commerce platform Temu is preparing to expand into the Swiss grocery sector, according to a report by Tages-Anzeiger. After launching food sales in Germany, Temu is now setting

its sights on Switzerland.

While an official launch date has not been announced, the report indicates that internal preparations are already underway. In Germany, Temu currently offers fresh goods including meat, beverages, and sweets.

Temu, a subsidiary of Chinese tech giant Pinduoduo, is known for its aggressive pricing and its local-to-local business model, sourcing products directly from regional suppliers and delivering them to customers.

The platform has been growing quickly across Europe and is already among the most popular shopping apps in several countries. Its expansion into Switzerland could further intensify competition for the local retail market. Photo by Col André Kritzinger, Wikimedia commons.
