Over 100 Ryanair flights are set to be cancelled at Charleroi Airport next weekend as a result of a strike called by the pilots' union in Belgium. The airport's website has confirmed that 54 flights
scheduled for Saturday and 48 flights scheduled for Sunday will be affected.
Passengers are advised not to come to the airport if their flights have been cancelled. However, there will be no cancellations at Brussels Airport. The strike has been called by pilots demanding better pay, as they had previously agreed to a 20% pay cut during the pandemic to support the airline's survival. Now that Ryanair is back in profit, they are seeking higher wages. According to the CNE union, over 80% of pilots will be participating in the strike. Photo by Fernandopascullo, Wikimedia commons.
