Swiss police intervened to remove Austrian far-right figure Martin Sellner during a lecture in the canton of Aargau.
According to the Swiss German-language newspaper SonntagsBlick, well over 100 right-wing extremists were present at the event.
Organized by the Swiss far-right group Junge Tat (Young Action), the event saw Sellner's unhindered entry into Switzerland, despite Zurich cantonal police's request for an entry ban to the federal government.
The event's location was kept confidential until the last moment.
Police conducted checks on several individuals near Koblenz, an agricultural commune situated between the Aare and Rhine rivers, before redirecting them to the nearby commune of Tegerfelden, both located in the Zurzach district of Aargau canton.
Sellner, a prominent figure in the far-right Identitarian Movement, was temporarily detained by Swiss authorities to prevent the continuation of the event. He has since been released. Photo by Guillaume Vachey from Chalon sur Saone, France, Wikimedia commons.
