Danish authorities have launched an investigation following reports of approximately 20 drones spotted over the port of Koege, located southwest of Copenhagen.
In a statement shared by Danish Radio, regional police confirmed that officers were dispatched to Koege Marina on Friday night, where they observed four large drones flying over the area.
The police were alerted by a witness who claimed to have seen around 20 drones, which reportedly vanished into Koege Bay at high speed.
Authorities are working to determine the exact number of drones involved and identify their operators, noting that no permits had been issued for drone activity in that region during the time of the sightings.
The investigation comes amid heightened security concerns in Europe, where increased drone activity has raised fears of potential Russian hybrid warfare tactics in the context of ongoing hostilities in Ukraine. Photo by Julien Carnot, Wikimedia commons.
