The Baltic Assembly Prize in Literature for this year has been bestowed upon Lithuanian translator and poet Antanas A. Jonynas, as announced by the Lithuanian Seimas on Friday.

Jonynas received this recognition for his collection of sonnets titled "Naujieji Sonetai."

Peeter Laurits from Estonia was also honored for his remarkable and diverse contributions, particularly for his project "Biotoopia." Latvian Arnolds Laimonis Klotins was recognized for his monographs "Music in Post-war Stalinism: Latvian Music Life and Creativity 1944-1953" and "Music in Exodus: Latvian Musical Life and Creative Work in Post-war Europe 1944-1951."

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place during the 42nd Session of the Baltic Assembly in Tallinn on November 23-24.

The Baltic Assembly, established on November 8, 1991, is an international organization fostering collaboration among the parliaments of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.
