In anticipation of heavy storms predicted for the region, public parks in Brussels will be closed on Sunday afternoon. Brussels Environment announced on Saturday evening that the Sonian

Forest, as well as Brussels regional parks and nature reserves, will be closed from midday as a precautionary measure against expected winds exceeding 80 km/h.

Notices will be prominently displayed at park entrances, and rangers will be present on-site to inform visitors about the closure. Brussels Environment advises the public to avoid being near trees throughout the entire region due to the potential risk of falling branches.

The closure is set to remain in effect until Monday morning when park authorities will conduct inspections, clear any hazards, and ensure the parks are secure before reopening.

In light of the weather conditions, several music festivals in the area, such as Brosella in Brussels and Les Ardentes in Liège, have had to make adjustments to their Sunday schedules.

Bert Schreurs, the director of Brosella, stated that the festival will not begin at 13:00 as planned. Instead, organizers are considering the possibility of a shortened program from 18:00 to midnight to accommodate the weather conditions and ensure the safety of attendees.
