European Sleeper, the long-distance train operator, has announced the launch of a new overnight service connecting Brussels to the Alps and Venice, set to begin next
year. The inaugural journey is scheduled to depart from Brussels on February 5.
This new route will operate twice a week during February and March, catering to winter sports enthusiasts and travelers visiting popular European cities. The train will start in Brussels, make stops in Antwerp, Utrecht, Cologne, Munich, Innsbruck, Verona, and finally arrive in Venice. The full journey will take approximately 21 hours.
European Sleeper has prepared a provisional timetable and is currently working with authorities to finalize the exact departure and arrival times. Ticket prices will be revealed soon, with bookings set to open on September 1.
"This is a significant milestone for European Sleeper and highlights the growing convenience and sustainability of night travel across Europe," said Chris Engelsman, co-founder of European Sleeper, in a press release.
Since May 2023, European Sleeper has been operating a night train service three times a week between Brussels and Prague, passing through Amsterdam and Berlin. The company is also planning a new daily connection between Amsterdam and Barcelona.
