The excitement for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025 in Basel is at an all-time high, as nearly 42,000 tickets were snapped up within minutes on Wednesday. Fans eager to attend the live
shows managed to secure all available tickets in just seven minutes, while the preview shows sold out in 20 minutes.
More tickets coming soon
For those who missed out, there’s still hope. Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SBC), the event’s organizer, announced in a press release that additional tickets will be released in the coming months. Exact sale dates will be communicated in advance.
The first wave of sales went smoothly, according to the organizers. Reto Peritz and Moritz Stadler, co-executive producers of ESC 2025, noted that the rapid sell-out reflects the event’s power to unite people across cultures.
Eurovision 2025: dates and highlights
The Eurovision festivities in Basel will begin on May 11 with the opening ceremony, co-produced by 14 students from Graubünden University of Applied Sciences. The semi-finals will take place on May 13 and 15, followed by the grand final on May 17. All three televised shows will be held at Halle St-Jacques in Basel.
In addition to the main competition, six Preview Shows will also take place at the same venue. Ticket prices range from CHF 40 to CHF 350 (approx. $44 to $386), depending on the event and seating category.
For those who can’t attend the main show, an outdoor preview event and live broadcast of the final will be held at Parc St-Jacques, FC Basel’s stadium, which can accommodate 36,000 spectators. Tickets for these events go on sale at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
